Fun Dog Show

On Sunday 21st June we are holding a fun dog show as part of the Church Lawford Village Fete. This is the first time dogs have been involved in this event so we hope it is popular. There will be 10 fun categories to enter your dog in: Prettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Male, Best Veteran, Most Perfect Puppy, Waggiest Tail, Best Child Handler, Best Trick,  Owner and Dog Most Alike! and Dog the Judge Would Most Like To Take Home. Prizes have been donated by Arrowsmith Behavioural Consultancy and Mikki. Thanks to Mikki for their generosity. Each winner will recieve a rosette too. Well worth having a go. The fete is for all the family and runs from 2.30 to 5.30pm. Come along and have some fun. Village Hall, Church Lawford, By Rugby, Warwickshire CV23

New Partnership.

In April 2009 Claire got together with Mikki products to work on new dog training products that they feel will benefit you as dog owners. The first products are in the pipeline already and should be available later this year.

Guest Interview on Pet Talk Radio.
On Saturday 21st March 09 I will feature as a guest on the nationally syndicated U.S. talk show with Harrison Forbes. Harrison has been a trainer and behaviourist for over 20 years and has carved a fond name for himself amongst the American public. I am delighted to be asked to talk to him about my recent book award. (Due to unexpected telephone connection problems, this interview has been pushed forward- new date will be announced as soon as possible.)

2008 Book Award

I am very proud to announce that my book "The Sit, Down, Come, Heel, Stay and Stand Book" is the winner of the "USA National Best Books 2008 Awards" in the section; Animals/Pets: Novelty. I am delighted that it has been received so well. I really enjoyed writing it. I hope the pets and owners who appear in it are proud too; without those lovely photos it wouldn't look so wonderful.

This book is available to purchase from my Book Shop for just £7.99.

Does Your Pet Have Star Potential?

pet tricksI am currently looking for a range of dogs to appear in a new book about games with dogs. It should be a fun shoot and a useful book for owners. The dogs need to be ranging from tiny to large, with all ages and shapes being considered. We can't use docked dogs however.

If your dog is confident, neatly presented and has basic training then join us. We are especially interested in playful dogs. The studio is an unusual situation as it is all white and the camera flashes can startle more sensitive dogs. For this reason, dogs with sound phobias or that are nervous in new places may not be suitable. However, we often do outdoor work and DVD filming so please let us know you are interested and we will keep you in mind. We also have links to a company that works animals for TV and films. If your dog does well it may be offered work in the future.

puppy tricksContact us today and we will let you know more about the event. The studio is in Kent and the shoot will occur in July 2009. You will need to practice the games/actions we need and possibly attend a trial photoshoot (the photos from this trial will be available to purchase).

Overall, it is a fun opportunity and your dog could appear in print!

DVD Award Nomination

I am delighted to let you know that the DVD Banishing Bad Behaviour (or US title:  Correcting Bad Habits) was a Finalist for a "2008 Best DVD" by the Dog Writer's Association of America. We had a wonderful time meeting everyone in New York in February and am honoured to be included alongside some people I respect immensely.
